I shall name this post…ni (nee).

How come famous quotes are only attributed to famous or anonymous people?  Are famous people more interesting and exciting?  Why isn't Raffi from 7-11 or my bank teller Hong found in the many anthologies of all things quotable?  By the by, my boy Raffi has some serious quotation game…who are the five most quotable 7-11 employees in the world…Raffi…Raffi…Raffi, Raffi and Raffi…cause he spits hot fire.  I don't know if this is a brainstorm or a brain hiccup…I'm thinking about documenting the greatest quotes of my friends, family, people I only know through their profiles on myspace and random 7-11 employees…if any of the three people who inadvertantly clicked on this blog post has a quotation to offer…please send them to me or leave them as a comment on this blog….I'll start it off…here are a few uber unintelligent quotes I came up with:

Love is pain, wrapped in glass.

Dream, have a near life experience.

Time travel is more than possible.  Look at all the people that either live in the future or the past.

Questions with answers lead to more questions…(I had to steal this one from Dilated People)

A dream deferred deadens desire.

What would be your perfect day?

A date with your significant other?  Catching a ballgame?  Movies and popcorn?  Or perhaps the Dave Chappelle impersonation of Sean Combs/P. Diddy/Puff Daddy/Just call me Diddy approach,

"If I had my way, I'd never work. I'd just stay home all day, watch Scarface 50 times, eat a turkey sandwich, and have sex all fucking day. Then I'd dress up like a clown, and surprise kids at schools. Then I'd take a dump in the back of a movie theater, and just wait until somebody sat in it. Hear it squish. That's funny to me. Then I'd paint, and read, and play violin. I'd climb the mountains, and sing the songs that I like to sing. But I don't got that kinda time."

“You studied stuff, how were the midterms?”

Fight Club (the book and movie) is responsible for more memorable quotes than any movie I can think of in recent memory.  In Palahniuk we trust,

"I've met God across his long walnut desk with his diplomas hanging on the wall behind him, and God asks me, "Why?"  Why did I cause so much pain?  Didn't I realize that each of us is a sacred, unique snowflake of special unique specialness?  Can't I see how we're all manifestations of love?  I look at God behind his desk, taking notes on a pad, but God's got this all wrong.  We are not special.  We are not crap or trash, either.  We just are.  We just are, and what happens just happens.  And God says, "No, that's not right."  Yeah.  Well.  Whatever.  You can't teach God anything."  ~Chapter 30

Campy quote

Hutch, somebody ran over my brother in a horse-drawn carriage.  I'm going to find whoever it was and I'm going to hurt them

- courtesy of some guy in the should of gone straight to DVD (Duh-Vuh-Duh) movie "Stay Alive."

Now I didn't see the movie but I appreciate it for the quotable nugget it's birthed (kind of like how Hansel from Zoolander hasn't heard Sting's music but he appreciates him for making music).  I guess this is my way of saying that something beautiful can be found in the ugliest of situations or in this case the ugliest of movies.

Inspiration is Everywhere

I found a great quote by Benjamin Zander I thought I’d share, “The lesson I learned is that the player who looks least engaged may be the most commited member of the group.  A cynic, after all, is a passionate person who does not want to be disappointed again.”

What a great way to put a person’s emotional passions in perspective.  The world is full of passionate people who are scared to be let down.  As a culture we need to find a way to unlock or overcome this fear of disappointment.  I think at this point it is on those that are not overtly cynical to reach out to those wearing the masks of disengagement.  Reaching out cannot hurt only help.

Um numbers

Seems most blogs and magazines have blurbs recounting quotes and stats that the alleged humorists find intriguing.  Seeing as my blog is like the gazillionth one out there, I figured, I might as well copy those who came before me.  Hopefully I can be the 3M of blogging (without the lawsuits) I don't make the blog, I just make it better.  Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I give to you…the first and quite possibly only….statistical musings post…

Dialogue anyone?  Just let it marinate.
